Remembrance

There are many ways to remember the one who has passed away.

You may find that working on some of the projects or ideas listed below can be very healing and meaningful to you while you reminisce in memories.

Some ideas that have been shared with us to help you remember and create a lasting tribute to your loved one include:

  • On-line memorials- There are many on-line memorial companies that allow the user to create an on-line memorial that can be posted for days, months and years.  This type of memorial allows the creator of the page to upload pictures, information and stories.  Family and friends can view, sign in, leave messages, etc...  These companies offer a number of features for the user to elect.  Some companies offer a free trial period then a fee of around $50.00 per year or more to keep the site available on-line.
  • Memory books-  We have found and used some on-line memory books that allow the user to select the cover of the book, a theme, and then easily upload photographs, stories, etc...  When the book is complete, beautiful hard and soft bound versions of the book can be ordered.  This is a really good way for family members to share pictures and stories and everyone can have their own copy of the book. Prices for a nice hard bound version start at about $50.00 and go up with page numbers and photographs.  This is a really nice product that can be created and shared with others.
  • Memorial funds-  You may wish to set up a memorial or scholarship fund.  You can contact a bank or the charity of interest to you to set up such a fund.  Through such a memorial you can assist in the administration and management of the funds.
  • Personalized keepsakes-  There are a number of personalized items that you can make or have made for remembrance.  Some ideas that we have seen include: garden stones, journals, jewelry, plaques, pictures, crosses, pillows, quilts, and there are an endless number of other things you can do to remember.

We hope that you find this information helpful and that on this journey of remembrance you will find healing
